Currently we are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer at Chunc Wheelchairs, you will be responsible for creating new designs and updating existing product range.

Key Responsibilities:
- Producing design briefs for new products.
- Checking design and concept meets required British Standard.
- To produce design concepts, 3D models and prototypes for all new products.
- Updating and improving existing product range.
- To produce and oversee the design, development and manufacture of all jigs and fixtures.
- To mange the production handover phase working closely with the Production Supervisor.
- To originate Change Notes, Modification Notices and all other project management paperwork.
- To conduct Design Review Meetings as required.
- To compile the update of all technical manuals.
- Provide test/verification plans.
- To assist the Quality Department with design issues.
- Produce cost analysis for all new products.
Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in similar role with knowledge of design concept through to producing production drawings and documentation.
- Proven working experience in mechanical engineering/design role.
- Understanding of ISO 13485 is an advantage.
- Understanding of materials and manufacturing techniques.
- Competent with 3D Solidworks CAD Software.
- Qualification in an engineering related field E.G Apprenticeship, HNC, HND or degree.

- Hours are based on a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday 8.00am to 4.30pm with half an hour each day for lunch. No weekend, evening or bank holiday working.
