Our two factories in the UK offer state of the art production facilities with a combined surface area of 8000m2, making use of Production Factory Management software to ensure smooth transition of all orders through the system. All production personnel are fully trained and work to the company’s rigorous quality standards.
Our new machine shop with separate tool making shop have full machining capabilities including 5 CNC machines utilising SolidCam software. In-house injection moulding facilities are also housed in the new building and are complemented with a composite lay-up room, dust free paint shop and dedicated final assembly areas to ensure all products are completed to the highest standards.
The Group’s electronics production facility has its own in-house surface mount technology ‘pick and place’ machine to ensure all circuit boards can be produced quickly and flexibly. All electronics assembly is undertaken in a dedicated ESD protected section of the factory to ensure all electronic components and circuit boards are protected from any residual damage effects.
All products are fully tested during manufacture and before despatch by fully trained technicians using dedicated test equipment to ensure they meet the exacting aerospace standards the company works to.
A busy drawing office using SolidWorks and Autocad software is also based at the main production facility to provide a full back up to the design, development and manufacturing operations. The Group has also invested in a Rapid Prototype machine which has enabled designs to be brought to production in a much reduced timescale. The administration and accounts department uses bespoke software systems to ensure all orders pass through the company smoothly from order intake through to invoicing.
In addition to the UK production facility, a 1450m2 factory in the USA is fully set up for final assembly of some of the Group’s products and the fully trained staff work to the same rigorous standards as the UK operation.
To complement the production facilities, the design and development team, based at the Group’s headquarters, has the use of the latest state of the art testing facilities.
Radio Frequency testing is carried out on fully definable, multi position systems at frequencies up to 1 GHz on our outside test range and frequencies above 1 GHz in our fully equipped anechoic chambers. Two dedicated RF screened rooms are available where necessary.
In addition to a range of mechanical testing facilities, the company has two environmental chambers with temperature capabilities between -65°C and +150°C and relative humidity up to 98%. A fully specified vibration table is available with both sinusoidal and random control as well as a number of other specialist test facilities including centrifugal testing, drop testing and fire testing.
Computer simulation packages are used throughout the design process including CST Microwave Studio software for Radio Frequency work, Linear and non Linear packages for digital design and SolidWorks for Mechanical Design.
